Alexander Skarsgard 'Impressed' With His 'Battleship' Co-Star Rihanna

'This is her first movie but she's great,' the 'True Blood' star tells GQ UK.

Rihanna has already proved she can conquer the dance floor, and if her her "Battleship" co-star Alexander Skarsgård is to be believed, she's not having problem transitioning into the world of film either. In an interview with GQ UK, the "True Blood" star talked about working on the songstress' feature film debut.

The Swedish actor, who will play a commander of a Navy destroyer, said that despite Rihanna's busy schedule, she's performing well.

"This is her first movie but she's great, she's really really good in it," Skarsgård said. "She's got a crazy schedule. She's really diligent and I'm impressed. We would work and then she'd fly to LA to perform at the MTV [Video] Music Awards and then fly back redeye, land, go straight to set, work all day. No complaints, nothing. She's really solid."

MTV News caught up with Rihanna at the 2010 VMAs, and she said couldn't be happier on the set of the board-game-based film. "I'm really enjoying it, actually. I like it," she gushed.

When asked how it was working with Skarsgård, Rihanna replied, "He's really cool, just laid-back. He doesn't get in the way. [He's] not very talkative, but he's a really cool guy and that's [to] everybody — not just the cast."

Skarsgård, who co-starred in Lady Gaga's "Paparazzi" video, described that shoot as "crazy" and "a lot of fun," and he revealed that the experience with the Barbadian songstress is a bit different considering the amount of time he's spent working time with the pop stars. "[Filming Battleship] is a different experience because Rihanna, we're out there together for a couple of months," he said.

Photos of a Rihanna in Hawaii, sporting a short brunette hairdo and a traditional U.S. Navy uniform, surfaced earlier this month.

"Battleship" will land in theaters on May 25, 2012.

Fans will have to wait until February for Bieber's story line to continue.

The appropriately titled season premiere of "CSI," "Shock Waves," found the CSIs chasing down a bomb suspect with a grudge against the cops. With the investigators each dealing with ongoing physical and emotional damage from various other traumatic events, they had to put those feelings aside to chase down the McCann brothers, two young men with some authority issues.

After Dr. Raymond Langston (Laurence Fishburne) is stabbed by inmate Nate Haskell, it's assumed Haskell is the man behind the bombing at a funeral for a dead officer attended by Nick Stokes (George Eads). When they realize that the killer's MO doesn't match that of Haskell's, they are on the trail, looking into every lead, which includes two very key clues that bring us to Jason McCann, played by Justin Bieber in his acting debut.

We first meet Bieber at a community center, where he is defending the man who helped raise him, Ralph. "Ralph was no criminal," Bieber says. "He's a decent man. He took my brother and I when we had no one."

But it's not long before Bieber and the CSIs meet at the community center, where they are trying to track down a cell phone used to detonate one of the bombs. In Bieber's several scenes, his biggest and most convincing acting comes during his interrogation by Stokes.

After learning that a young man fitting McCann's description bought a toy plane, also used in the explosion, he sits down with the teen to try to find his brother, Alex, the main suspect in the explosion. Bieber is certainly new to acting, but he shows some quick wit and certainly has a screen presence, not to mention that signature hair, while delivering his lines alongside the veteran "CSI" actor.

"Where's your gun, your vest, your badge? You're off work or something?" Bieber quips. "You still represent the authority, everything I hate. It's probably like you hate me."

Soon, however, McCann's confused-kid nature starts to show as he opens up to Stokes about his brother's vindictive nature against the police. "They're going to kill him, aren't they?" he asks about his brother, who most likely is the guy out to settle scores by blowing up cops. "I didn't have anything to do with the bombs. I just bought the airplane."

Soon, we learn that Ralph, the man who cared for the boys, was arrested, though it is never said why or if he actually deserved it. "When the cops arrested Ralph, Alex snapped. Ralph was like a father. He was a decent man," he said, adding his brother's motives: "He told me he was going to scare the cops. He's got a house in old Henderson. You'd better hurry. That show at the funeral was just fireworks compared to what's coming."

Stokes is soon off to find Alex, though it really isn't too hard to find him. Alex is caught buying supplies to make more bombs and is killed by the cops when he pulls his gun, leaving Jason without his older brother but the CSIs with lots of evidence in the back seat of Alex's car.

The evidence? He wanted to blow up police headquarters. Jason's story is kind of left up in the air, but not without one more explosion at an abandoned building being investigated. The catch: Alex was already dead when the explosion was set off. And, with Bieber in custody and an evil look in his eyes, it seems he's keeping the family business alive.

So what will happen when Bieber's McCann returns? Well, fans will have to wait until February to find out.

Justin Bieber Sings For Fans At Hooters In Canada

Singer makes a surprise appearance at a mall in Edmonton.

Justin Bieber is living the life. The 16-year-old superstar was spotted and photographed with a bevy of Hooters waitresses after he stopped by the restaurant's local outpost at the West Edmonton Mall in Canada on Saturday, the Edmonton Sun reports. He was in town for a stop on his My World tour.

Not only did Bieber and his entourage, including four of his backup dancers, stop by for a quick visit, he also serenaded everyone at the restaurant. One of the servers at the restaurant, Tania Biggar, explained, "We were talking about deep-fried pickles. Then they said they would sing to me for free deep-fried pickles. The manager said if they sang for the whole restaurant, he'd pay for their entire meal. They serenaded the girls. They were actually super-polite. They were just awesome people to serve. They weren't demanding or anything like that."

The impromptu performance had fans in a frenzy. "Everybody that was sitting around them went over to talk to them. They told them they did an awesome job of singing," she said.

Biggar further explained that while the Hooters girls did get a photo with Bieber, they didn't get much one-on-one time with him. "None of the [servers] really got to talk to him. He was surrounded by his fans," she said. "That's how we knew he was coming in — it was all 14-year-old girls. And they all kind of move as one."

YouTube footage of the Hooters visit shows Bieber, dressed in a black jacket and black hat, walking through crowds of people. Despite all the fans trying to catch a glimpse of the star, it seems things remained relatively more low-key than past Bieber mall appearances.

The restaurant's manager, Sonny Verma, confirmed the blink-and-you'll-miss-him appearance of the "U Smile" singer to the Edmonton Journal. "We probably had a row six people deep and 10 people long at the window. It was pretty cool," he said. "I was told about 10, 15 minutes he came in here. It was really quick. He came in, took a quick picture and took off."

Four days after a judge briefly detained her for failing drug tests, Lindsay Lohan has entered a live-in rehab facility in Southern California to seek help for substance abuse, TMZ is reporting.

No other information is given in the report, other than that the Mean Girls actress will likely stay at the facility until her next court date on Oct. 22.

Lindsay Lohan: Pondering Rehab Options

Set to give rehab another try within the next two days, Lindsay Lohan is in the process of deciding the best place to get the help she so desperately needs.
While insiders tell Radar Online that the "Mean Girls" star is still in denial, she has decided to check in for treatment before her October 22nd court date on a probation violation.
According to the Radar source, LiLo is currently leaning towards going to the Betty Ford Clinic in Rancho Mirage, California - though no official decision has been made thus far.
In what will become her fifth go at getting professional help, the insider tells of the situation, "Lindsay is still in denial about being an addict and doesn't realize this disease can kill her. She is in denial about the power this disease has over her. Even though she has been to jail twice in recent months, it hasn't changed Lindsay's underlying behavior. Lindsay is willing to get help, but she doesn't seem to grasp the severity of her drug addiction."

On Sunday (September 12), Lady GaGa was arrived at the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards. The ?Bad Romance? singer took to the white carpet sporting a funky headdress teamed with a multi-colored gown and platinum blonde hair.

Following a flamboyant white carpet arrival, the ?Bad Romance? babe made her way inside to win a slew of shiny trophies, including the night's top prize for Video of the Year - which she accepted in a dress made of meat.

During her Video of the Year acceptance speech, the 24-year-old belted out a few lyrics while announcing her new album will be titled "Born This Way".

In related news, Gaga is hopping on the celebrity merchandising bandwagon and has signed a long time licensing deal with Coty Inc.

What this means is that the Lady will be developing signature fragrances for the brand, with her first scent due out in Spring 2012.

And THIS is why early discharges from rehab are generally a bad idea {sigh}. Lindsay Lohan confessed on twitter that she had, indeed, failed a drug test.
Regrettably, I did in fact fail my most recent drug test and if I am asked, I am prepared to appear before judge Fox next week as a result.
TMZ is now reporting that Lindsay actually failed two drug tests. In addition to landing her in jail, this setback could also further derail Lindsay's career, according to TMZ.
Lindsay is now relying on Judge Elden Fox to allow her to leave California to shoot "Inferno" in Louisiana and possibly fly to New York City for "Saturday Night Live."
Here's the problem. Sources connected with the case have been telling TMZ ... if Lindsay were to fail a drug test the judge would probably pull the plug on out-of-state-travel -- a privilege for Lindsay, not a right.
...But all bets are off now that Lindsay has flunked two tests.
And sources close to Lindsay somehow already know the big wigs on "Inferno" are pissed that she may have screwed up again, so flying to Louisiana may be a moot question.
You can't really blame the 'Inferno' producers for being upset. It looks like the best thing for Lindsay at this point is a long-term stay in an inpatient facility that focuses solely on drug abuse (not drug problems and psychiatric problems, which is what the UCLA program did).
This is really just TOO sad.

On Tuesday (September 8), Heidi Montag continued her stay in the tropical locale of Costa Rica. The bikini-clad former MTV reality star sipped on a drink while taking a dip in the pool at her villa as one of her dogs joined in on the waterbound action.

In related news, Spencer Pratt has spoken out about his misguided steps when it comes to being a husband to Heidi Montag.

Lindsay is due in court today as part of her DUI probation terms, and it seems Lindsay Lohan is confident that she?s on the right track.The ?Mean Girls? babe did a video interview yesterday (May 23) in which she stated that she?s in compliance with the judge?s terms of probation and isn?t anticipating any push back from the court.Nervously, LiLo stated, ?I don?t see what reason I would go to prison for. I?ve been more than in compliance with everything having to do with the court system. Ever the doting mother, Katherine Heigl and her baby girl were spotted at LAX on Friday (September 24).
The ?Knocked Up? star carried her precious daughter, Naleigh, into the airport to catch a flight out of town.
In recent news, the actress, who recently went back to being a blonde, announced her generous donation of $1 million to help no-cost spay and neuter clinics in the Los Angeles area.
Heigl, who has six dogs, told press that she hopes to educate the community on this serious issue. ?They have no idea that a litter of 10 means a litter of, like, 400 in the future. We can tell them and educate them, and provide a way for them to spay and neuter their pets," she told press.

Shia LaBeouf: Oliver Stone is a "10 Out Of 10"

He?s one of the hottest young actors out there these days, and Shia LaBeouf is fresh from working with Oscar-winning director, Oliver Stone.
The ?Transformers? stud teamed up with Stone for the filming of ?Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps? and recently opened up about the talented director.
For starters, Shia admitted that Stone is ?out of 10, he?s a 10.?
LaBeouf continued to tell MTV News, "In the '80s and '90s, [Oliver Stone] was the most dangerous filmmaker alive. It's wild. His maturation has softened him now, but at least in the movies that are in that box set, you not only [get] entertainment, but you also get outrageous information. There's an education process. How many directors do you know have college courses based on them in film schools? It says something about him."

An updated estimate says the vampire flick earned $28.6 million on Friday (July 2) putting the sales at $121.3 million in its first three days of release.

According to box office estimates, for the standard, three-day weekend (Friday through Sunday), the film is projected to earn $80.2 million.

With Monday thrown in the mix, the four-day holiday weekend is expected to gross $106.1 million.

The ?House Bunny? actress looked beautiful as she mingled at the Grauman?s Chinese Theater sporting a leggy gold and blue dress.
Also in the house for the big event were fellow stars Aly Michalka, Will Gluck, Penn Badgley and Patricia Clarkson.
The film is about a high school girl who lies about losing her virginity to her gay best friend only to find her life begins to parallel the story of Hester Prynne in ?The Scarlet Letter.? It hits theaters Friday, September 17th.

Lindsay is due in court today as part of her DUI probation terms, and it seems Lindsay Lohan is confident that she?s on the right track.The ?Mean Girls? babe did a video interview yesterday (May 23) in which she stated that she?s in compliance with the judge?s terms of probation and isn?t anticipating any push back from the court.Nervously, LiLo stated, ?I don?t see what reason I would go to prison for. I?ve been more than in compliance with everything having to do with the court system. I don?t see why I?d have to go to prison and the only person whose suggested anything like that is my father.?She continued, ?I wasn?t partying in Cannes. I was there for work. I was there promoting a film. I?ve been focusing on my work and getting my classes done, therefore, you know just to be able to start to film again so I can have this all put behind me. Movie Premiere: Eclipse

Making for quite the spectacular evening, the stars were out in full force for the red carpet premiere of "The Twilight Saga: Eclipse" in Los Angeles, California on Thursday evening (June 24).

Held at the Nokia Theatre LA Live, the movie's big names all turned up - as Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, Taylor Lautner, Ashley Greene, Kellan Lutz and Dakota Fanning joined in on the fun.
