Having recently made clear his Presidential campaign plans in Haiti, Wyclef Jean has since spoken up about his newfound political ambitions.
Over the past week, the ?Gone Til November? rapper has given a number of interviews and has explained his motivation behind wanting to take over one of the most challenging jobs in the Western Hemisphere.
He told Time Magazine, ?If not for the earthquake, I probably would have waited another 10 years before doing this. The quake drove home to me that Haiti can?t wait another 10 years for us to bring it into the 21st century."
The passionate singer added, "If I can't take five years out to serve my country as president then everything I've been singing about, like equal rights, doesn't mean anything."
Word has it, Wyclef will officially be making his announcement on ?Larry King Live? tonight (August 5).
